*OFFICIAL PROMOTION RULES
NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE, USING A SERVICE, OR OBTAINING A LOAN WILL NOT INCREASE AN ENTRANT’S CHANCES OF WINNING.
1. Sponsor: The Refer-a-Friend $500 Drawing (“Promotion”) is sponsored and administered by CPM Federal Credit Union (“CPM” or “Sponsor”), 1066 E. Montague Avenue, North Charleston, South Carolina 29405
2. Promotion Period: The Promotion begins at 12:01 AM Eastern Time on September 1, 2026, and ends at 11:59 PM Eastern Time on September 30,2026 (“Promotion Period”).
Referral entries must be completed during the Promotion Period. Mail-in entries must be received by CPM no later than September 30, 2026. CPM’s records and designated timekeeping system will be the official timekeeper for the Promotion.
3. Eligibility: The Promotion is open only to natural persons who:
-
are legal residents of SOUTH CAROLINA;
-
are at least eighteen (18) years old at the time of entry (minor accounts will not be counted as a referral); and
-
for purposes of receiving a referral entry as a referring member, are CPM members with an account in good standing at the time of entry and when the prize is awarded.
A person does not have to be a CPM member to use the Free alternate Method of Entry as described in Section 5. A person who enters through the Free Alternate Method of Entry is not required to become a CPM member, open an account, purchase a product or service, obtain a loan, or otherwise transact business with CPM.
For purposes of this Promotion, an account is in “good standing” if the member:
- has no charged-off CPM account or obligation;
- has no negative balance in any CPM deposit account; and
- is not past due on any CPM loan or other credit obligation.
The good-standing requirement applies only to an entrant whose entry is based on that person’s status as a current CPM member or qualifying referring member. It does not apply to a person entering solely through the Free Alternate Method of Entry. An entrant who does not satisfy all eligibility requirements when the prize is awarded will be disqualified, and an alternate potential winner may be selected.
Employees, officers, and directors of CPM, and members of their immediate families or households, are not eligible to enter or win. “Immediate family” includes a spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, stepsibling, grandparent, or grandchild, regardless of where the person resides. CPM may require documentation reasonably necessary to verify eligibility.
By entering, each entrant agrees to be bound by these Official Rules and by CPM’s decisions concerning the Promotion. CPM’s decisions are final and binding in all matters relating to the Promotion, except where prohibited by applicable law.
4. How to Enter Through a Qualifying Referral: During the Promotion Period, an eligible current CPM member may refer a friend or family member to become a CPM member.
When the referred person establishes a CPM membership during the Promotion Period, satisfies CPM’s membership requirements, and identifies the referring member in the manner required by CPM, the referring member will receive one (1) entry and the referred person will receive one (1) entry in the drawing.
Each person referred must be a new CPM member and must be eligible for CPM membership under CPM’s field-of-membership requirements. All account-opening applications remain subject to CPM’s ordinary policies, identification requirements, and approval procedures. A person who becomes a new CPM member through a qualifying referral is not required to purchase any product or service, obtain a loan, or otherwise use a CPM product or service to receive the referral entry, except that the person must establish CPM membership in accordance with CPM’s ordinary membership requirements to receive an entry under this Section 4. The referring member and referred member are separate entrants. Either may win without the other winning. A referral does not guarantee that either person will receive the prize.
Unless CPM expressly states otherwise in its promotional materials:
- a current member will receive one (1) entry for each different qualifying new member referred during the Promotion Period, up to a maximum of ten (10) referral entries;
- a referred member will receive no more than one (1) referral entry;
- a new member may identify only one (1) referring member; and
- self-referrals, duplicate referrals, fictitious referrals, referrals made without the referred person’s knowledge, and referrals involving fraudulent or incomplete information are void.
Each eligible person may also receive no more than one (1) entry through the Free Alternate Method of Entry described in Section 5.
If more than one person claims to have referred the same new member, the referring member identified in CPM’s records at the time the new membership is established will receive the referral entry.
5. Free Alternate Method of Entry : No purchase, payment, membership, account opening, product or service use, loan application, loan approval, or referral is necessary to enter or win.
To enter without making a referral or becoming a CPM member, an eligible South Carolina resident may enter by mail. To enter by mail, hand-print the following information on a 3-by-5-inch piece of paper:
- full legal name;
- mailing address;
- telephone number;
- email address, if available; and
- date of birth or other information sufficient for CPM to verify that the entrant satisfies the age and eligibility requirements.
Place the entry in a stamped envelope and mail it to:
CPM Federal Credit Union
Attn: Member Referral $500 Drawing
1066 E. Montague Avenue
North Charleston, SC 29405
Limit one mail-in entry per outer envelope. Each envelope must be mailed separately and must contain only one entry. Mail-in entries must be handwritten. Photocopied, computer-generated, mechanically reproduced, bulk-mailed, or postage-due entries will not be accepted.
Mail-in entries must be received by September 30, 2026. CPM is not responsible for entries that are lost, late, damaged, illegible, incomplete, misdirected, stolen, delayed, or postage-due.
A mail-in entrant is not required to be a CPM member and will not be required to establish a CPM membership, open an account, purchase a product or service, apply for or obtain a loan, or otherwise transact business with CPM as a condition of entering or winning.
6. Entry Limit and Account Ownership: An eligible referring member may receive no more than ten (10) referral entries during the Promotion Period. Each qualifying new member may generate only one (1) referral entry for the referring member. Each referred member may receive only one (1) referral entry. Each eligible person may submit no more than one (1) mail-in entry during the Promotion Period. A valid mail-in entry is in addition to any referral entry or entries for which the person otherwise qualifies. A person who does not receive a referral entry may receive one (1) mail-in entry.
Entries generated by script, macro, bot, automated process, exchange program, or other improper method are void.
If a jointly owned CPM account is used to identify an entrant, the entry will be assigned to the eligible person identified as the entrant in CPM’s Promotion records. An entry may not be divided among joint account owners.
7. Prize: One prize will be awarded: $500 in cash or gift card, with an approximate retail value of $500.
The prize will be paid by check, deposit to the winner’s eligible CPM account, or another method selected by CPM. No interest will accrue on the prize before it is awarded. The prize is nontransferable before award. No substitution is permitted except that CPM may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable.
The total approximate retail value of all prizes is $500.
8. Odds of Winning and Random Drawing: The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible referral and mail-in entries received.
On or about October 11, 2026, CPM or its designated representative will randomly select one potential winner from all eligible entries received during the Promotion Period. The drawing will be conducted virtually by the marketing team, using a random selection process designed to provide each eligible entry an equal chance of selection.
The potential winner will be notified using the telephone number, email address, or mailing address contained in CPM’s records or supplied with the entry. CPM is not responsible for a potential winner’s failure to receive a notice because of inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete contact information, spam filtering, or other circumstances outside CPM’s reasonable control.
9. Verification and Claiming the Prize: The potential winner is subject to verification and is not a winner unless and until CPM confirms the person’s eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.
The potential winner may be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility, liability release, publicity release where lawful, tax documentation, and any other reasonably required prize-acceptance documents within fourteen (14) calendar days after CPM sends the applicable documents, provided that the potential winner must respond to CPM’s initial prize notification within forty-eight (48) hours after the notification is sent.
A potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate potential winner selected if the potential winner:
- cannot be contacted after reasonable attempts;
- fails to respond to the initial prize notification within forty-eight (48) hours;
- fails to return required documents within the applicable fourteen (14) day period;
- fails to meet the eligibility or good-standing requirements;
- declines the prize;
- provides false or incomplete information; or
- otherwise fails to comply with these Official Rules.
If a prize notification or prize is returned as undeliverable, the potential winner may be disqualified. CPM may select an alternate potential winner by random drawing from the remaining eligible entries.
10. Taxes: The winner is solely responsible for all federal, state, and local taxes, fees, assessments, and other expenses associated with accepting or using the prize. CPM may report the prize to the appropriate taxing authorities and require the winner to provide information or complete documentation necessary for tax reporting.
11. Release and Limitation of Liability: To the fullest extent permitted by law, each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless CPM and its directors, officers, employees, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to:
- participation in the Promotion
- acceptance, possession, use, misuse, or loss of the prize;
- any error in the administration of the Promotion or processing of entries; or
- the entrant’s violation of these Official Rules.
Nothing in these Official Rules is intended to waive liability that cannot lawfully be waived or limited.
CPM is not responsible for printing, typographical, human, technical, electronic, transmission, communication, network, computer, hardware, software, or other errors that may affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Promotion.
12. Fraud, Tampering, and Modification: CPM may disqualify any person who CPM reasonably determines has:
- tampered with the entry process or operation of the Promotion;
- submitted fraudulent, altered, duplicate, or unauthorized entries;
- provided false or misleading information;
- violated these Official Rules; or
- acted in an abusive, disruptive, or unsportsmanlike manner.
If fraud, technical failure, human error, natural disaster, public emergency, legal restriction, or another event outside CPM’s reasonable control affects the integrity or proper administration of the Promotion, CPM may suspend, modify, extend, or terminate the Promotion, to the extent permitted by applicable law. If the Promotion is terminated early, CPM may award the prize through a random drawing from eligible entries received before termination.
13. Privacy: Information collected in connection with the Promotion will be used to administer the Promotion, verify eligibility, contact the potential winner, award the prize, satisfy legal obligations, and as otherwise permitted by CPM’s applicable privacy notices and policies.
Entrants should not place a full Social Security number, full account number, password, personal identification number, or other sensitive authentication information on a mail-in entry.
14. General Conditions: The Promotion is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited.
CPM’s failure to enforce a provision of these Official Rules does not waive that provision. If any provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
The headings in these Official Rules are for convenience only and do not affect their interpretation.
15. Governing Law and Disputes: Except where prohibited by law, the Promotion and these Official Rules will be governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to the Promotion will be subject to any applicable membership, account, or arbitration agreement between the entrant and CPM. If no such agreement governs the dispute, the dispute must be brought individually, and not as part of a class or representative action, in a court of competent jurisdiction located in South Carolina.
